I have a printed invoice to use as a template. Do I scan it in to my pc, if so which format do I save it so I can overtype it? What program should I use to edit it? Thanks

You could scan it and save as a PDF or a GIF. Generally, you don’t want a format they can change.

I would recommend designing an invoice in Excel or Word. This can be done using the example that you have now or using templates from the Microsoft website (link below).
One the information has been put into your invoice I would recommend printing into a PDF file, for which I would recommend a licensed version of Adobe Acrobat Writer or the more economical on-line suite(link below).

Go to Sofotex they have tons of business utility software.
