How do i add an image to my email signature, without it being an ‘attachment’?

I want to add an image to my outgoing emails as a signature.
When i simply ‘insert’ the image, although it appears correctly at the recipient, when the email is received it is listed as having an attachement with it.
I know i have received emails with images in them which do not say they have an attachment – how can i acheive this?

Quite simply, you can’t. If you’re sending e-mail in html format, but your recipient is using plain text format, it will always appear as an attachment. Sorry.
