How do I adjust the global template on Microsoft Word 2003?

When I am typing labels or tables (without grid lines) I used to get the “grayed out” lines showing me what the labels look like and the “grayed out” lines on the table too. Somehow I lost that feature. I may have accidentally changed the global template but I am at a loss how to change it back.

To get this back, click the Table->Show Gridlines menu item.
