How do I create a newsletter?
November 8th 2009
I am in charge of making a newsletter for my sorority. I have NO idea how to even begin. What kinds of articles? How do I make a layout? What program should I use to print it? I have word, will that work? Please help, I have no idea!!
How about microsoft publisher? Is that any good? Also, ideas for articles are greatly needed! Thanks!

You could use Microsoft Word. They have columns, or the option of printing two pages on a sheet (which makes it look kind of like a book). You would create a header, then put everything else into columns. You can also add images (pictures) or symbols (smiley faces) (It’s under Insert). Just remember to save changes constantly (otherwise your work will end up deleted).
For articles, talk about what’s going on (on campus, worldwide), upcoming events (parties, lectures), results of polls (either have a new poll in each newsletter, and have people fill it out and mail it in, ask people around campus, or (this would probably work best) if you have a website, set up a poll on there and put the results of that poll into the newsletter), etc. If it’s a large campus, you could set up a post office box or somewhere that people could mail or drop off letters anonymously if they had any problems, and then you could figure out a solution to the problem and then you could put the letter and the solution into the newsletter (something like Dear Abby). Just make sure all names are changed and this would only work on a large (over 10,000 people) campus. Good luck.
