I am new to Dreamweaver and see a lot of existing templates online. Is it easy to edit and change a pre-existing one? I have adobe flash as well and wanted a flash template already made.

Yes it pretty easy to edit HTML templates in Dreamweaver. But flash is another story unless they provide the .fla file. You cannot edit .swf files in flash.

No, don’t use online templates because, unless you are going to hire someone to handle your website (it is a website isn’t it), you will not be able to do anything if the site crashes. Spend some time on dream-weaver and you will get used to it, I PROMISE. And its worth it in the end. Online site builders are expensive, do not offer good support, do not give you free will (can only choose premade templates) and if anything goes wrong, you have an e-mail, no numbers or helplines.

Extremely easy to use with CERTAIN templates. I’ve subscribed to someonline template clubs and some of them supply complete CRAP. You need to stick with sources that are known for producing not only good looking templates but well functioning ones too…(as in cross browser friendly, small download size, standardized well formed CSS, perhaps even complient with Section507 – if dealing with ADA poplulation, or gov’t type websites – which need to comply). Anyway… I’d start by checking out Project7 or “project sevens” templates as they’re professional on all levels and they provide excellent training information. Also, don’t forget to use http://www.w3schools.com as you can learn a lot there + practice. Happy Developing…
oh… if you haven’t checked out the simple and easy google apps sites then please do and save a ton of time for yourself. Hey… it’s free!
