What’s the best outline one can make that will summarize major world events that happened in 1939 in a newsletter format? Any suggestions on where to find info on Anne Frank and the whole World War II stuff?

You have an interesting assignment. In my opinion,
you have to research for the information you need by going to a library at a university near you and burn the “midnight Oil”. There is no quick fix in education if you are a scholar.

A website, called, “History OnLine” might be a good place to start. They have links to other “history” web-pages, listed by subject, time period, etc.
check: “Social History” & World War Two.
